#AttentionUK is a call to destigmatise and improve awareness of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, a condition better known as ADHD.

#AttentionUK exists because people with ADHD experience stigma across the UK, and more training, funding, and responsible representation is needed to improve diagnosis and support of ADHD in clinical and educational settings.

#AttentionUK no longer exists as a campaigning body itself; but it’s call to action continues. Our website supports this as an information source to support the call to action.

This website summarises the high quality academic, clinical, and educational data on ADHD in the UK, rigorously researched at the time of our founding and since updated with further resources and signposting materials. Although the website is no longer being updated, the nature of ADHD and problems facing people with ADHD in the UK remain the same.

This website also shares recommendations and guidance for supporting people with ADHD. We focus particularly on health care settings, higher education, and the media.

Studies have found that adults with untreated ADHD are twice as likely to be fired from a job than people from the same background, who don’t have unsupported ADHD. There are lots of stats like this, showing the unnecessary challenges that adults face when they can’t access support.

At present, ADHD services are deeply underfunded. The majority of adults with ADHD in the UK have no timely access to NHS support. Just like any other condition, people with ADHD are just as kind and intelligent as everyone else. They deserve equal opportunities and access to education, healthcare, and respectful media representation.

ADHD is the one of the most common CONDITIONS in the world.

understanding and support can be lifechanging.

So, please spread the word, to pay attention UK.
